Just a thought (and visual of that thought) about Education versus Training…
I’m now over half way through my PGCE, a course which for the most part (assignment deadlines and time finding issues aside) I’m really enjoying… “discovering” theoretical reasons why certain ways of teaching I have already employed work (and vice versa), looking in depth at the reasons we as “human animals” want to learn, and how it benefits us beyond pure survival… all great stuff.
As an illustrator its also asked me to look at the tools I use in the classroom to help pass on this information… and what it means to be an educator (my HE tutorial sessions) and at times a trainer (some of my CAD sessions), and understanding the difference therein.
Its becoming more apparent that the difference isn’t just a point of semantics, but that there indeed is a difference between the two…
Plus a couple of other related images:
The first on the benefits of short projects…
Including a scan of the rough sketch (below).
Plus a work in process visual looking at the Modular/Spiral – Process/Praxis model of curriculum… and the repetition of process in teaching design.

Would I be able to use this illustration in my curriculum assignment please? I will of course give full credit to the author, and would like to ask when this was published? Many Thanks, Louise.
